Dont Give Up

Many people give up too easily. I can't really pinpoint the exact reason why this happens, but the most common one seems to be having too high expectations. I think that when someone is looking for instant results from fitness, he or she is setting themselves up for failure. Don't self-sabotage your confidence and your drive before you even get started.

Let's be realistic, do you think that you can gain 20 pounds in 1 week? No! That being said, do you think you can lose 20 pounds in 1 week? Again, no!

Beware of shortcuts because they are your worst enemy. Yes, it may be you instant gratification, but the instant effects wear off easily. Many people make the mistake of taking pills, doing extreme diets, or using products that are very harmful to your body. (Please don't do it, love your body!) In the long run, having a balanced meal and consistent workouts will give you the ultimate gratification of your life.

Here is how you can get started. Always set reachable goals and come up with 3 ways to measure your success. For example, I measure how I feel in my favorite pair of jeans, I keep track of how I feel every morning, and I record how many reps of push-ups or squats I can do each time I workout. This makes it easier for me to see the progress I've made and, in turn, be motivated by it.

I know that it's hard specially in the beginning to notice and to appreciate the little achievement when you are hungry for the end result, but, believe me, little by little you will get there. Have faith in yourself. And be patient and really take the time to listen to your body and understand how it works.

Small accomplishment will lead you to your big goal. Always celebrate your mini successes throughout your fitness journey. It is vital that you stay focused and consistent.
